Golf Tournament Nets Nearly $30,000
The 2001 Omaha Ronald McDonald House’s “Drive Fore Home” Charity Golf Classic provided an afternoon of great golf and great food.
But the real winners were the families served by the Omaha Ronald McDonald House. Proceeds from the tournament reached nearly $30,000.
The Omaha State Bank team of Chris Maher, Craig Nelson, E.J. Stanek and Kirby Smith shot a blistering 16-under par to win first place.
The tournament drew 36 teams at The Champions Club.
McDonald’s and Southwest Airlines served as the tournament’s main sponsors. Hole sponsors were U.S. Bank, Wittstruck Industries, Bernstein-Rein Advertising, McDonald’s, Omaha Public Power District, Dr Pepper, Southwest Airlines, Sid Dillon Oldsmobile, Regal Printing/Ervin and Smith Advertising, EARP Distribution and Lamb-Weston.
