Art show to benefit Ronald McDonald House

Renowned photojournalist and Pulitzer nominee, Kenneth Jarecke, returns to his hometown for an evening benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha.

His works have been seen regularly in publications such as Time, Life, US News, Sports Illustrated, Fortune, and the New Yorker.

Selected photographs by Mr. Jarecke will be up for silent auction. Proceeds will support the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha.

Dancing with the Omaha Stars Success

The Dancing with the Omaha Stars event was a huge success. This event featured 11 local celebrities who were paired with professional dance instructors. Each couple showcased a unique dance ranging from Cha-cha to Tango.

This event took place on Saturday, January 16th and was hosted by Omaha Ballroom. Owner, Elizabeth Edwards, donated all proceeds from this event to the Ronald McDonald House. The evening raised over $7,000.

Annual Report Receives Award

The 2008 RMHC Omaha annual report, “Thanks for Lending a Hand,” received an award of merit from the Public Relations Society of America Nebraska Chapter.

Missouri kids do their part

Credit a popular television show for giving a 10-year-old girl the idea to have a lemonade stand to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

Olivia, a fifth-grader, was watching “John and Kate Plus Eight” and saw that the family hosted a garage sale to benefit a Ronald McDonald House in another state.

Olivia, along with her 7-year-old brother, Michael, had the lemonade stand during a nine-day stay with their grandparents in Council Bluffs.

Local Nebraska school achieves pop-tab milestone
