RMHC is benefiting charity of vinNEBRASKA 2009

Tickets are on sale for vinNEBRASKA 2009, a two-day wine event held in March that will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha.

vinNEBRASKA is a two-day event held each March and organized by a group of wine enthusiasts in Omaha whose goal is to introduce the community to great wine. The annual event was first held 20 years ago, and has supported various nonprofit organizations throughout that time.

“We are honored that vinNEBRASKA chose us,” said Kevin Warneke, RMCH chief executive officer. “This is the best wine event in the state, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

The two-day wine event features a formal dinner at Happy Hollow Club, featuring wines from the participating vintners, on Friday, March 27. The event includes a silent and oral auction.

A wine-tasting is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at Holiday Inn Central. Attendees can sample wines from the more than 20 participating wineries and meet their representatives. The evening also features hors d’oeuvres and a silent and oral auction featuring wine, vacations and wine-related items.

Geoff Gorsuch of Goosecross Cellars in Napa Valley will be the honored vintner at vinNEBRASKA 2009. Gorsuch is one of more than 20 representatives of wineries from throughout the country who will attend vinNEBRASKA 2009.

Honorary chairpersons for the event are UNMC Chancellor, Dr. Harold M. Maurer, and his wife, Beverly.

Presenting sponsor for the event is UltraAir.

A few tables for the Friday event remain. Cost to attend the Saturday event is $75 per person before March 1; $85 after March 1.
