Spring Cleaning Fling Brightens Up the House
With the help from the people at ServiceMaster, the annual Spring Cleaning Fling held on April 13, 2020 was a big success. ServiceMaster brought the equipment, supplies and manpower, and along with the help of many volunteers, the House received a deep cleaning. The cleaning was definitely needed after another year of wear and tear on the House. Jim and Vicki Darmody donated a wonderful lunch for the hungry crew. Many thanks to all those who helped.
Dillard Stores' Efforts Help Support the House
One of the supporters of the Omaha Ronald McDonald House since it opened has been the Dillard stores. When the winter holidays came in the first year the House was open, the Dillard stores donated decorations. The Dillard stores donated so many decorations that every room in the House was filled. The decorations help cheer up the families when it is so difficult to be away from home.
Last winter, Dillard stores ran a nationwide campaign of selling a holiday cassette tape or CD with the proceeds going to the local Ronald McDonald Houses. Omaha's local radio station Lite 96 promoted the holiday cassette tape and CD in Omaha and the sales were great. The Dillard stores raised over $5,000 for the Omaha Ronald McDonald House by selling the holiday cassette tape and CD.
The Dillard stores have made many donations of food and household supplies including bed sheets, dishes, and towels. Employees of the Dillard stores have volunteered at the House. Also, the Dillard stores have provided meals for the families.
The local Dillard stores that have contributed include the stores located at the Mall of the Bluffs in Council Bluffs, the Crossroads Mall in Omaha and the Oak View Mall in Omaha.
Thank you for your continued support of the Omaha Ronald McDonald House.
